Major Updates to Popular WordPress Plugins 2017

This year, we've seen extensive updates to some widely-used WordPress plugins.  These updates include the addition of new features to make their products perform better, as well as add scalability for future extensions.

The team at WooCommerce is focusing on performance and scalability.  As a result, they are changing their code's interface to the CRUD system.

Ninja Forms 3.0  was released in spring of 2016, but has not been supplied to the entire userbase. With a new interface and base code, extensive testing will be needed to ensure that forms made prior to the update are properly updated.

Social Warfare, a popular social sharing plugin, is working to extend their functionality with this release. While the initial release will not change much, it will split the free and pro versions into separate plugin installations. This means that if you are using the licensed version, you will need to update your plugin to the new pro edition. Social Warfare 2.2.0 was released on Thursday, December 1, 2016.
